Fast and Furious: Two More DOJ Staff Reportedly Seek Whistleblower Status
The Sipsey Street Irregulars, a blog that has been on the leading edge of the Fast and Furious story, has published an exclusive report. According to their sources, two more Department of Justice staff members have come to Rep. Darrell Issa and requested whistleblower status:
What they bring with them from the cold, according to one source, is “the keys to the kingdom as far as Holder is concerned,” adding “if this comes out before the (contempt) vote (on 20 June), then Holder is toast.” Said another, “not even Boehner will be able to stop it. Hell, he’ll really jump on board and act like it was his idea.”
This surprising development has re-energized the investigation staff, which was widely rumored to be floundering after the reluctance, not to say opposition, of the GOP leadership became known some months ago. One source called these whistleblowers “game changers” while another, after speaking of the frustrations of recent months said, “But there sure is a sense of renewed enthusiasm here.”
Holder is facing a contempt vote in the House next week for his failure to produce documents related to the Fast and Furious program. Rep. Darrell Issa says there is still time for him to produce the material and avoid the vote, but if more witnesses come forward with information showing Holder isn’t being truthful, I doubt they call off the vote.
And if they do, it’ll be because they are charging him with perjury.
