Obama Administration: We Will Still Force Christians to Act Against Their Faith. And we’re continued to be surprised about this why? The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) begin the month of February setting the stage for a massive showdown between the federal government Christians. This issue champions those of faith, who believe the government has no right to force them to act against their faith by mandating that they buy, provide or enable health-care coverage (Obamacare) that includes sterilizations, contraception, or abortion-inducing drugs.
A year ago, and prior to the HHS Mandate going into effect, Colorado Federal District Court Judge and John L. Kane granted a preliminary injunction on behalf of Hercules Industries in Newland v. Sebelius. The injunction is the first to be ordered by a federal court judge in litigation surrounding the Health and Human Services (HHS) mandate under PPACA.
The court in rendering its’s injunction held that the government failed to establish, that it had a compelling interest in applying the mandate to these plaintiffs. The federal government has granted to many other non religious related employers, and could provide free birth control directly, as it does through other programs.
With the Colorado court victory as a precedent, there is a similar court case is ongoing in St. Louis, Missouri. The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), is representing the Missouri company. “The HHS mandate is an unprecedented attack on the religious liberty of millions of Americans. It’s a clear violation of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and the First Amendment,” said the senior counsel for the ACLJ.
The Obama Administration continues to ignore the rulings of the courts in the cases, and in direct conflict with the constitution, pushes forward with it’s own adgenda.
