This week a Wisconsin Democrat Party staffer named Graeme Zielinski was removed as the party spokesman after he compared Governor Scott Walker to serial killer Jeffery Dahmer in one of his many Tweets. Along with being removed as spokesman he had his Twitter privileges taken away.
Zielinski was attacked almost immediately from people on all sides of the political aisle after his ignorant Tweet and in short order he deleted the offensive postings. But it wasn’t enough for Party bigwigs who felt his days as spokesman were over.
Daniel Bice of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that party bosses and Zielinski “agreed” that he should be removed from his position.
Zielinski is apparently being kept on as a “media adviser,” though. This is still a paid party position.
The former spokesman had quite a history of trash talking, hatemongering, and generally acting like a jerk on Twitter, according to Bice. So this was a long time coming.
“It’s a culmination of stuff,” a party insider said.
Of course, if this guy had been a Republican, he’d have been fired after one incident not after years of abusive actions. It just goes to show the difference between the two parties. Republicans clearly have higher standards.
