#FAIL: Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Apologizes For ‘KKK’ Wednesday Promotion

A UK Krispy Kreme Doughnuts made an unfortunate error while promoting a week of fun and activities for children on winter ‘half-term’ break. The Hull branch of Krispy Kreme had taken to social media to promote the week of fun which included Funday Monday, Colouring Tuesday and KKK (Krispy Kreme Klub) Wednesday. Facebook users doing what they do best quickly responded and correct the doughnut purveyor on the massive marketing error.

One such response directed at the company stated “For those Brits who may not be familiar: the KKK was a society of American southern white male members of the Democrat Party who were wont to dress up like ghosts and dance around a burning cross before fanning out with torches (dipped in oil and burning, not flashlights) to commit unspeakable crimes.”

Here is the schedule of activities Krispy Kreme has since pulled from their Facebook page:

Krispy Kreme has since pulled all marketing of “KKK Wednesday” and a spokeswoman for the company told the Mirror Online that they apologize “unreservedly for the inappropriate name of a customer promotion at one of our stores“.

At least on the brightside those in Britain giving Krispy Kreme a lesson in history acknowledge the fact the KKK was started by Democrats…
