POTUS Twitter Account Converts to President Trump, Social Media Empire Now Reaches 47,000,000

UPDATE: WhiteHouse.Gov has fully converted as well.

President Donald Trump will now have access to more than 24,000,000 followers on Twitter. This thanks to the new addition of 3.88 million followers of the @POTUS twitter account that just came under the control of the Trump administration.

Donald Trump has 20.6 million followers on his personal @RealDonaldTrump account, an account he intends to continue using daily moving forward. The POTUS account, while sitting with no tweets as of the time of this post, will be used primarily for official status updates from the White House.

Barack Obama was the first user of the POTUS account and until now it was somewhat unknown as to what would happen with the account following the swearing in of Trump. Turns out the transition of power included the transition of the POTUS account.

All of the Obama administration tweets were archived by Twitter and shifted into another account, leaving the POTUS account blank for a new start by the Trump administration.

Trump’s Facebook page has nearly 18,000,000 fans/likes. His Instagram account has 4.8 million followers.

With the new POTUS twitter account added in Donald Trump can potentially communicate with nearly 47,000,000 users across his social media profiles.
