A trip to a local Starbucks quickly turned violent for one man attempting to intervene in a dispute regarding a latte, leading to that individual being stabbed by a disgruntled customer.
According to reports, the incident took place at the Starbucks on the 100 block of S. Northwest Highway after a man become angered over his drink order. While it is unclear what initially sparked the disgruntled customer’s outrage, what is clear is that an individual attempting to defuse the situation is lucky that his injures were only superficial.
As witness Kimberly Anderson told CBS Chicago, the incident altercation quickly turned violent and just moments after the man attempted to intervene, there was ‘blood everywhere in the foyer’ of the coffee house.
Anderson further explained that the unidentified assailant was angered over something allegedly wrong with his latte and when the other customer attempted to calm the situation the disgruntled man ‘started cutting him up.’

The man who was stabbed was not pursuing criminal charges, but was taken to the hospital after a verbal argument took a sharp turn.
“He was sitting on the curb, and his hand was bandaged up. There was blood everywhere in the foyer,” witness Kimberly Anderson said.
Bloodied napkins littered the ground outside the Starbucks on Northwest Highway in northwest suburban Park Ridge.
“I’m informed that a customer was upset with the way his drink was prepared, or perhaps delivered to him,” property owner Glen Wherfel said.
Police said there is no threat to the general public. No charges will be filed in the case.
Nothing to see here folks, just another normal day in the Safe Space known as Chicago…
